Solubility Test of MK-2866 (Ostarine) in PEG300

MK-2866 (Ostarine) has attracted much attention for its significant effects in promoting muscle growth and maintaining muscle mass. During the development of its solution formulation, solubility is a critical parameter. This experiment focuses on testing the solubility performance of PEG300 (Polyethylene Glycol 300) as a solvent. By gradually increasing the amount of solvent, the solubility behavior of MK-2866 is thoroughly evaluated to provide a basis for subsequent formulation optimization.

Test with 1 mL PEG300:
As always, we test by adding 1 mL at a time. After adding 1 mL, we can see the powder rapidly disappearing; the solubility of PEG300 is absolutely amazing.

But when we look closely, there are still a few undissolved particles. We’ll add another 1 mL PEG300 to see the result.

Test with 2 mL PEG300:
After adding PEG300 to 2 mL, we thoroughly stir and mix the solution.
Now we can see there are no visible powder particles left. The liquid is now a transparent light yellow solution. This means that 2 mL of PEG300 has completely dissolved 1 gram of MK-2866 powder.

Result Analysis

Based on the experiment, the following conclusions can be drawn:

Excellent solubility:Only 2 mL of PEG300 is required to completely dissolve 1 gram of MK-2866, demonstrating outstanding solubility. It is the best-performing solvent tested so far.

Liquid characteristics:The solution appears as a transparent light yellow liquid, indicating that PEG300 not only has strong dissolving power but also forms a uniform solution system with MK-2866, suitable for preparing high-concentration solutions.

Economic efficiency:Compared to other solvents that require much larger volumes, PEG300 achieves complete dissolution with minimal amount, offering high economic value and practicality.

Summary

This experiment shows that only 2 mL of PEG300 is needed to fully dissolve 1 gram of MK-2866 powder, outperforming other solvents. As a solvent with both high efficiency and broad applicability, PEG300 provides an excellent solution for MK-2866 formulation development. Future studies may focus on PEG300’s stability and its synergistic effects with other solvents to support more complex formulation designs.
